This is a dictionary of the ancient language, Indo-European or Proto-Indo-European, originally written to translate German Names. These translations are just guesses by me and previous translators, without whom I could not have done this work.

A dictionary defining the meanings of many German surnames found in the United States. There are enough short names or definition to define names not in the dictionary. Mainly phone books were used to find names that look German to me.
