iPod & iTunes VISUAL Quick Tips
Chapter One
iTunes
Basics
iTunes, a digital media player introduced by
Apple in 2001, is designed to enable users
to perform many media-oriented tasks,
such as import, play, and organize their
music files, video files, photos, and
podcasts. Available as a free download
from , iTunes also serves
as an interface for Apple's portable digital
media player, the iPod.
If you connect your computer to the
Internet, iTunes serves as a conduit to
Apple's iTunes Store, where digital content
such as music, audio books, movies,
television shows, music videos, and games
are available for purchase. You can also
access many audio and video podcasts free
of charge from the iTunes Store.
Any content that you download or import
into iTunes - for example, music files
imported from a CD - is accessible from
iTunes' Source list, located on the left side
of the program window.
