Ayanagou had just left her village in search of her true parents, when mercenaries tracked her down. After helping her escape, Kalahan, a Black Elf, brings her back to his city where she learns of the Dragon Empire and its ruler, calling herself the Black Queen. He then becomes one of her loyal companions helping her find her people. But before she could find Featherwind, the city of her people, she discovers wings growing on her back and an increasing ability to produce fire. While retrieving vital information on her people's whereabouts, she is told that she is the Phoenix prophesied to overthrow the Dragon Empire.
Are the Prophecies true? How is Ayanagou going to react when she finds out the truth about her origins? Ayanagou struggles to take control over her life and events seemingly overwhelming. What is certain is that her trek is about to bring her far beyond she ever imagined, and finding her parents will become the least of her worries.
