"I didn't ask to be no preacher's son!" Nicky shouted at his father. His mother gasped. "Nicky, you don't mean that!"
His father stood to his own feet in authority. "Nicky, don't you walk out that door when I'm talking to you!"
Nicky jerked the door opened, ignoring his father, and slammed the door behind him.
