The Eve of Seven Fishes
The recipes, stories, and history in The Eve of Seven Fishes will take you back to the simple days of your youth, from opening Christmas presents after enjoying the mouthwatering meal of anchovy spaghetti, fried smelts, and Baccala, to savoring the smell of garlic and the company of Uncle Tony and Cousin Vinnie.

Author Robert A. Germano entices your taste buds with his delectably authentic Italian recipes from the Old Country. With recipes centered around the simple Italian meal prepared on Christmas Eve, you'll savor the flavor of garlic and basil in Germano's homemade spaghetti sauce and learn how to make true Italian biscotti.

The kitchen was the heart of the Italian home. Not only was it a place to cook, but it was also the entertainment area for gossip, arguments, solving riddles, and more laughter than your cheeks could endure.

The Eve of Seven Fishes invites you into Germano's kitchen and introduces you to the peasant cooking of years gone by. But remember, 'Too many wines spoil the cook."

2 out of 5 stars The Stink of the Seven Rip-offs 11/22/2005
Reviewer: Jimmy Kracklestiks from Los Angeles, CA USA
Although initially excited to receive this "cookbook" and dive right into cooking an "authentic" Italian meal, and having traveled the world and possessing a degree in international studies, I was surprised at the utter lack of research placed within, effectively voiding the accuracy of the entire content of this book. Germano clearly has lifted all of the recipes contained herein, as he is way off base with most of the ingredients, and the book is riddled with vital omissions of detail and the recipe's instructions come across as cryptic in description. I, myself being from a large, Italian family rooted deep in tradition, it quickly became apparent that Germano is a frequent consumer of fast food who is attempting to pose as a "real" chef. With plenty of typos and improper grammar to boot, you're honestly better off catering in your Christmas dinner from KFC than to waste your time attempting to decipher this flapjack pookabear.
