When Caleb Williamson, a career officer with the Central Intelligence Agency, disappears, agents are left wondering whether he is a spy who has defected or the victim of a crime. Meanwhile, Williamson's friend at the FBI, agent Tyler Bannister, is trying to catch an extortionist who has threatened to unleash a biological poison.
As Bannister manages to solve the extortion case, he becomes smitten with a beautiful young woman at the FBI Academy. His life is complicated further when his CIA friend Williamson turns up dead alongside the corpses of two women.
