The key principles taught throughout the book are backed up with clear and useful examples. This enables the reader to easily apply what they've learned with confidence in order to meet their own coding needs. Andrew H. Watt is an independent consultant and author who has been technical editor on about 20 books covering JavaScript, XML, and other Web technologies, including Pure JavaScript and JavaScript Developer's Dictionary for Sams. He is also a contributing author to Special Edition Using XHTML, XML & Java 2 (Que Publishing), XHTML By Example, (Que Publishing) Professional XSL (Wrox), Professional XML (Wrox), and Professional XML MetaData (Wrox). Jonathan A. Watt is Webmaster for the Strathclyde University Skills Society as well as a number of his own sites. Although primarily a JavaScripter, his experience includes scripting with ASP and PHP for database-driven Web sites. Being active in the online JavaScript community has given him a good insight into the needs of a wide range of JavaScript beginners. At present he is completing the second year of a Masters degree in engineering at Strathclyde University.
