Torah Yoga
Chapter One
The Hidden Light
[TEXT NOT REPRODUCIBLE IN ASCII]
On the first day of creation, according to the book
of Genesis, God creates light. On the fourth day of creation, God
creates the sun, moon, and stars. If this light of the first day of creation is not sunlight,
moonlight, or starlight, what is it? Where is it? Does it have any meaning
for us now?
Jewish mystics teach that the first light is connected to God's essence. Because
the first light is so powerful, God hides it. The mystics call it haór haganúz (the
hidden light). However, the hidden light can be found. It can be found everywhere.
Most importantly, it can be found in you.
With the practice of yoga, you can look for, find, and reveal to the world the
power and beauty of the mysterious hidden light within you.
