Landfall

In this book, Amado offers his unique perspective on the history, purpose and practical application of Occultism. He challenges many of today's common attitudes to Occultism and presents a deeper approach: Occultism as a spiritual path can be part of each person's relationship with the world, fellow travellers and The Beyond. "Landfall" offers the reader a new approach to the challenges life gives us and helps to uncover many of the false assumptions made while trying to resolve who or what we should be in this life. With the rapid development of technology, we have recently seen the arrival of eBooks, and Amado has adapted some of his early lessons for this new medium. He has expanded the text, rewriting them as books. "Landfall" is the first such volume. At the end of each chapter are study questions designed to stimulate and provoke. This book describes the way that many of life's fundamental 'truths' have been twisted or mixed up by society or perhaps those individuals in power who wish to undermine the quiet strength of 'everyman'. Life is, like a round dance, concerned with taming the wilderness and penetrating the mystic maze. Shamans, Druids and Magicians are guardians of a tradition; they talk with gods but live among men. "Landfall" examines the role of the Shaman, Guru, Master or Guide with particular reference to the modern world. How do honest seekers after truth differentiate between inspirational claptrap and that deeper older truth that lives on in the mystery traditions, or folk ways that have not really changed since the dawn of time? About Amado Crowley: Amado Crowley is an Occult Master. Born in England, the illegitimate son of the most celebrated magician, Aleister Crowley, he has been guiding occult students for over forty years. On every continent (barring Antarctica), there are small groups of students who follow his teachings, led by local initiates. Amado supports them as best he can by making occasional personal visits. Amado has no wish to be a celebrity, but his students have access to him for advice, guidance and consultation. As he grew older, and it became more difficult for him to move around the world, he looked for a method of directing individual studies without people having to take on the expense of visiting him. When he went to live in Switzerland in 1980, he began to compose sets of talks, which were recorded and sent to students on cassettes. These proved a great success and there are now countless lessons on tape, CD or video.
