This collection, apart from a handful of extremely serious lyrics, displays eclectic tendencies and, in particular, in the form of an interesting cross-section of poems in free form and quite a bit of light verse. The philosophy behind the title poem, INFERNAL / SUPERNAL LOVE, is heavily influenced by Blakeian notions, (such as THE MARRIAGE OF HEAVEN AND HELL), and Stevenson's outlook, particularly in his more serious moments, owes much to the great British Romantics ...
