'Yogani' is the nom de plume of a self-declared "spiritual scientist" who has spent many years investigating and practicing yoga in its various aspects. His approach to meditation is at once practical and down to earth. The human nervous system, he claims, is "wired" for the experience of a blissful silence underlying all the mind's noisy chatter. Here he details the use of a simple mental technique for systematically bringing the mind to rest, gradually cleansing it of the acquired conditioning that keeps us from conscious contact with this aspect of our nature. The goal is not merely to get a glimpse of something exotic within ourselves as if we were tourists running about inside our own heads! Rather, as Yogani makes clear, a regular practice of meditation should increasingly enable us to sustain this experience of inner peace throughout the day in all our activities, effectively joining life's inner and outer aspects in a powerful unity.
