Based on the premise that plays are objects of study in and of themselves, Script Analysis for Actors, Directors, and Designers teaches a traditional system of classifications that examines the written part of a play. This third edition will include an important method of play analysis called Action Analysis (a deductive, general-to-specific methodolgy), developed by Konstantin Stanislavski, creator of the Staislasvski 'System" of acting. Although widely available and studied in Russia, this will be the first time this material has been made available in English. It offers a complimentary method to the Formalist approach currently taught in the book.
