The eighth book in Piers Anthony's Incarnations of Immortality series. It is the year 500 AD. Kerena, a beautiful young girl living near King Arthur's Camelot, is apprenticed to Morely the Seer. Using her Seer abilities, Kerena tries to locate the fabled Incarnations of Immortality, seeking their aid in removing the taint from her baby. Rebuffed by all seven major Incarnations, Kerena vows revenge. But revenge against such mighty immortals would require an even greater power...

I'm a fan of Anthony's earlier work -- the first 6 or 7 Xanth books, the Adept series, the Space Tyrant series, and of course, the Incarnations of Immortality series. And so when I learned that he was releasing another Incarnation book -- this one about Nox -- I couldn't wait to read it. Now I wish I had saved my money. There are undertones of pedophilia, which he tries to justify in his writing, and the book itself is nothing but a great big smut fest. All the creativity that drew me into this series in the first place has gone out the window. I am very disappointed.

Piers Anthony delivers a fantastic fantasy sci fi serving to add new dimension and depth to his incarnations of immortality series. Filled with lots of action, drama, romance, and a heap of sexual energy not seen in the previous incarnations novels, this story is a highly entertaining romp through time and emotions. Mr Anthony has a way of writing that sucks you into the story, keeping you amused and engrossed throughout. I couldn't stop reading until I'd reached the end. If you want a story that has nearly everything in it, then you must read this book! And if you've read the previous books in this series, this one explains it all.
