Seascapes and Sand

The book is a novel of earth-bound science fiction. Its story deals with the momentous 'sea' changes that we set our hopes on in politics and in romance. Intertwined is a love story that begins in Russia. The book is the fourth novel in the epic series, The Lodging for the Rose. Its science is a fantasy that is as distant from the present world as is the sun that nevertheless affords us light and warmth. The science romance in this book is a dream of universal love that no one really understands at first. Thus, the dream falls apart. The story probes the prison of self-isolation in the shadow of sexual abuse, political abuse, and narrow perceptions. Still the love that is kindled remains and from it a light is born that takes us farther than the dream had allowed. Nor is the science a static thing, but a thing of life that grows and brings to light a whole new dimension that is as wide as the seashore, as vital as the wind, and as real as the soft sand. It is also a discovery, a one way street on which we leave footprints behind that we have outgrown and never can step back into. Thus we build our world on a fine line that is ever changing, ever challenging, that is an ever beckoning impetuous of ideas that are greater than us. It drags us out of the rut.
