Medium Security is a glimpse of prison life, where physical security is fragile at best. The power of a mental edge-here boosted by a supportive and inspirational message from someone outside-rewards one inmate with a temporary respite from danger. The stories are contemplative, and illuminate the human spirit through everyday events, objects and people. Thought, reflection, and symbolism are conveyed with perceptive irony and gentle humor.
