Before her stood the man of her dreams. He was tall?at least six foot three inches?and he had the most wonderfully wavy dark hair. A white t-shirt stretched over a massive chest, across a flat belly, and into a pair of faded jeans. One bulging, tanned arm hung at his side as the hand of the other clutched a faded blue shirt. They were as blue as a cloudless afternoon sky, twinkling below arched brows that were neither too bushy nor too sparse. Lucy's heart hammered in her chest.

"Hi." His azure gaze assessed the empty caf? in one quick scan. "You're open for business, aren't you? Someone told me this place puts out a great burger."

Lucy simply stared.

What the hell, is she deaf? The guy tried again. "Are you open?"

Lucy gathered her wits about her, cleared her throat, and tried to appear calm. "As a matter of fact, we are." She forced a composed smile on her lips, hoped she would make a good impression on the hunk, caught her heel on the rung of the stool, and pitched forward. A split second later, she was sprawled on the floor at his feet with her uniform wrapped up around her thighs. When she rolled quickly onto her butt, the motion popped her top button. Lucy watched unbelievingly as the white plastic fastener spun through the air and skidded to a halt between his feet.
