Princess Lysandra lurched forward as her carriage clattered to a stop in front of a beautiful marble palace. It had been months since she'd visited her big sister, Gabriella. Although Gabriella had often made Lysandra's life miserable with her nagging before she married and moved away, Lysandra soon discovered that she missed her.

Now Gabriella was pregnant and wanted her sister's company. Lysandra was happy to visit and was excited about becoming an aunt. The baby was due in less than two weeks!

Lysandra was also looking forward to seeing her friends: the princesses Fatima, Tansy, and Elena. Gabriella liked having lots of visitors and had invited them, too. They would be arriving the next day.

As Lysandra climbed down from the carriage, her brother-in-law hurried to meet her. Prince Jerome was a handsome man with fair hair and a strong jaw. Except for a slight hop in his walk and the occasional dart of his tongue, no one would have ever guessed he'd spent nine long years as a frog.
