"It cannot be true." Lady Meredith Brookshire paced her drawing room, fisting the missive only just delivered into a crumpled ball.

"Might I see the letter?" her aunt asked, flicking her wrist in the air impatiently. "Before it is destroyed?"

Meredith blinked at the ball of parchment in her hand and quickly passed it to her aunt as if it were a deadly serpent. It might as well have been for the death knell it rang in her heart.

They had found him. The new Lord Brookshire. The missive did not indicate where they had located him, but he would surely descend upon them soon. Like a vulture scenting its next meal.

So much for the solicitors' assurances that he was dead, she mused wryly. Despite those assurances, they had put forth a search for him anyway. Blasted solicitors. Must they follow the letter of the law precisely?

I loved it from front to back, the characters are spectacular, the love scenes superb, you will find funny parts as well. Full romance in every page, a great story and a happy ending, all to fulfill your expectations of a great book.

Top five stars from front to back, if you like fun, superb characters and full romance, this is definitely your book. This is my first book by Sophie Hordan and will not be the last, I look forward to read more books by this author. Highly recommended.

I love Sophie Jordan's books because her characters are so personalble, I feel as though they are real people. This was a fabulous book, the characters are great and they make the story come alive.

The hero was unconsciousable to the love that the heroine felt for him. He fought his love for her until the end. I like my protagnists to relize their love before they almost lose each other, but overall this was a good read.

This is a story that is a great read and very well written. Lady Meredith and Lord Nick are strong characters you really get to know and like right from the start. Meredith's aunt has a wonderful idea to save their home from her deceased husband's halfbrother, who isn't dead like he was supposed to be. Unfortunately, it backfires just as soon as Nick figures out something isn't quite right and brings his business partner to Oak Run. The fun really begins and the sparks fly. I laughed out loud at this particular scene and had to reread it several times just to savor the humor. This book has everything you want in a Romance if you like humor, a great leading man who can really be dense sometimes, and a leading Lady who does the best with what she's got to work with. There is great fire between our couple and the storyline is very well done.
