At Grave's End

Some things won't stay buried . . . at grave's end

It should be the best time of half-vampire Cat Crawfield's life. With her undead lover Bones at her side, she's successfully protected mortals from the rogue undead. But though Cat's worn disguise after disguise to keep her true identity a secret from the brazen bloodsuckers, her cover's finally been blown, placing her in terrible danger.

As if that wasn't enough, a woman from Bones's past is determined to bury him once and for all. Caught in the crosshairs of a vengeful vamp, yet determined to help Bones stop a lethal magic from being unleashed, Cat's about to learn the true meaning of bad blood. And the tricks she's learned as a special agent won't help her. She will need to fully embrace her vampire instincts in order to save herself—and Bones—from a fate worse than the grave.

At Grave's End

A Night Huntress Novel

Chapter One

The man smiled and I let my gaze linger over his face. His eyes were a lovely shade of pale blue. Their color reminded me of a Siberian husky, except the person sitting next to me was no animal. Of course, he wasn't human, either.

"I have to leave now, Nick," I said. "Thanks for the drinks."

He stroked my arm. "Have another one. Let me enjoy your beautiful face a little longer."

I stifled a snort. Wasn't he flattering? But if he liked my face so much, then his eyes wouldn't have been glued to my cleavage.

"All right. Bartender ..."

"Let me guess." The loud voice came from across the bar. An unfamiliar face grinned at me. "A gin and tonic, right, Reaper?"

Shit.

Nick froze. Then he did what I was afraid he'd do-he ran.

"Code Red!" I barked, vaulting after the fleeing figure. Heavily armed men in black clothes sprinted into the bar, shoving the patrons aside.

Nick threw people at me as I went after him. Screaming, flailing bodies hit me, making my attempts to catch them and fling a silver knife t ... read full excerpt from: At Grave's End ebook

Cat and Bones are finally together- both romantically and professionally. However, Cat's personal identity has been widespread and her work is being affected. To make matters worse, a war seems to be brewing between Bones' line and a line with a vampire from Bones' "romantic" past. The only way Cat will be able to help is if she can get herself to fully embrace her vampiric nature... Can Cat balance her work and her personal life once again? Will Bones be able to survive the multiple attacks on his life? And what will Cat ultimately decide: is she human or vampire?

I loved this book. It was so easy to get into and everything turned out just the way I wanted it to. I would recommend it to anyone with a thirst for good trashy literature. If you're not busy, curl up on the couch with a blanket and this book right now!

I love the first 2 books and love this one but just not quite as much. That being said, the book is still wicked good. Pros: 1. I like how the book centers around the Cat and Bones and the fact that many of the important side characters comes back. It allows room for their relationship to change and grow and that's really fun to read. I feel like these characters are my friends now. Often times, I find that I don't get the same connection in series that focuses on one character/couple before moving on to someone else in the next book. 2. I appreciate the return of old plot lines that are intermingled with new ones. 3. The darker and edgier feel of the book, in comparison to the other 2, adds new interest. Cons: 1. The chemistry that is so wonderful between Cat and Bones in the first 2 books was just a bit flat in this one. 2. There were a bit too many new characters that were not as fully developed so I find myself having to pause and remember who everyone is. That being said, I'm in mourning that I have to wait until July for the next book.

I nearly devoured the first two books in this series; I love some Cat & Bones! Frost's writing seemed so fresh after what I had been reading. At Grave's End did not meet my expectations. The sex wasn't nearly as steamy-or often enough, and the plot was a little forced. *Spoilers follow* I was tired of Tate's unrequited love in the 2nd book and didn't want to read so much of it in the 3rd. I am really, truly tired of authors trying to reinvent the "original" Vlad/Drac as a character. How many times will readers be reminded of Bones' previous lovers? You guessed it. That's a little tiring as well. I am looking forward to additional stories in this series, and will keep buying Frost's books, but I hope future books please as well as the first two did!

I have to admit that I am a bit of a sucker for vampire novels (pun intended...), but Jeaniene Frost's witty, modern, at times tragic take on the paranormal creatures is one of my favorites. At Grave's End, luckily, did nothing to shake that opinion. Cat and Bones make a great team of vampire slayers, there is enough angst in the middle to satisfy those of us who crave at least a little, and we grow increasingly interested in Menerches, a character who has appeared in previous books and who will receive his own novel sometime in the future. More interesting tidbits are revealed about vampire society. My biggest fear with the book is wondering where, with four more books in the series to go, Frost intends to take us. However, I'm definitely willing to read on and find out.
