Since Elizabeth Pantley says not to start if child is ill, teething, out-of-town, etc., I have not yet tried this completely because my son is sick. I do think it will work well, though. I've tried a few bits of it here and there, which has helped me. Everything she says makes perfect sense! You start by keeping a sleep log so you have a baseline. Then you keep logs every 10 days. She recommends introducing a lovey, which I think might help my son. She also recommends trying to get them to fall asleep without breastfeeding or with a bottle, which would help me tremendously. Overall, I can't wait to start this once he's well because crying-it-out is not an option in our house.
