The ASVAB (Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery) is the test you will take for entry and classification in the United States Armed Forces. Of the eight ASVAB subtests, four--word knowledge, paragraph comprehension, arithmetic reasoning, and mathematics knowledge--comprise what is called the Armed Forces Qualifying Test (AFQT). You must achieve certain AFQT scores or you may be barred from certain military occupations--or even from the military itself!
