New Moon
Legions of readers entranced by Twilight are hungry for more and they won't be disappointed. In New Moon, Stephenie Meyer delivers another irresistible combination of romance and suspense with a supernatural twist. The "star-crossed" lovers theme continues as Bella and Edward find themselves facing new obstacles, including a devastating separation, the mysterious appearance of dangerous wolves roaming the forest in Forks, a terrifying threat of revenge from a female vampire and a deliciously sinister encounter with Italy's reigning royal family of vampires, the Volturi. Passionate, riveting, and full of surprising twists and turns, this vampire love saga is well on its way to literary immortality.

New Moon

Chapter One

Party

I was ninety-nine point nine percent sure I was dreaming.

The reasons I was so certain were that, first, I was standing in a bright shaft of sunlight-the kind of blinding clear sun that never shone on my drizzly new hometown in Forks, Washington-and second, I was looking at my Grandma Marie. Gran had been dead for six years now, so that was solid evidence toward the dream theory.

Gran hadn't changed much; her face looked just the same as I remembered it. The skin was soft and withered, bent into a thousand tiny creases that clung gently to the bone underneath. Like a dried apricot, but with a puff of thick white hair standing out in a cloud around it.

Our mouths-hers a wizened pucker-spread into the same surprised half-smile at just the same time. Apparently, she hadn't been expecting to see me, either.

I was about to ask her a question; I had so many-What was she doing here in my dream? What had she been up to in the past six years? Was Pop okay, and had they found each other, wherever they were?-but she opened her mouth w ... read full excerpt from: New Moon ebook

New moon, defently isnt as good as twilight, it just doesnt captivate you as much, of course you still want to read to find out wht happens, but, i think it may be the fact that edward has gone. I do like the fact that Jacob is in and has a big part, because i do like him, but you do have to admit that edward is just, well, the one!!! Overall, it was good, but, just slow, like you didnt get into it and get captivated as easily as twilight. But its still a good read!

Meyer really kept me at the edge of my seat. This one is even better than the first one. The suspense is thrilling and nothing is as it seems. Great characters and plot. I liked it a lot.

I was hopelessly lost in this book from the first word on the first page. If you've ever known the pain of losing someone you're desperately in love with, you will sob through this book. And just when it looks like Bella may settle, she gets another chance. Meyer's world and writing style make it difficult to love any other books!

I found the content of this book to be mostly heartbreaking. Bella grows as a person but she is not always very gracious about it or rational. I understand that the content of this book is necessary to understand the series as a whole, so, I can deal with the storyline. I do love how Jacob's character evolves and becomes a more important part of the story. Should you read this book?.... of course! You have to read them all!

The first book was ok, this book was not. Well, more precisely, New Moon is a good read if you skip the middle two hundred pages where all Bella does is whine. Once I got past that, there is more action in this sequel and more adventure near the end. Everything else was much the same. I'll read the next book in hopes that Bella will learn to be a bit more independent.
