Romance ebook title: The Blackmail Baby

When eighteen-year-old Imogen married Dracco Barrington, she did so with an open heart.

He was her deceased father's business partner, and she had loved him all her life. But shortly after the wedding ceremony, Imogen uncovered a truth about Dracco that sent her fleeing...all the way to Rio de Janeiro!

Four years later Imogen needed money. Badly. But when she returned to Dracco's London home, she received an offer that was nothing less than shocking. Dracco would pay her one million pounds to stay and be his wife...and another million if she agreed to have his baby! On the surface, Imogen seemed to be getting what she wanted--the money she urgently needed, a family she longed for and the man she desperately loved. But at what cost?

The Blackmail Baby

Four years later

Throughout the flight from Rio Imogen had been rehearsing exactly what she was going to say, and the manner in which she was going to say it. She reminded herself as she did so that she wasn't a naïve girl of just eighteen any more, who knew virtually nothing of the real world or the shadowed, darker side of life, a girl who had been sheltered and protected by her father's love and concern. No; she was a woman now, a woman of twenty-two, who knew exactly what the real world encompassed, exactly how much pain, poverty and degradation it could hold, as well as how much love, compassion and sheer generosity of spirit.

Looking back over the last four years, it seemed almost impossible that she had anything left in common with the girl she had once been. Imogen closed her eyes and lay back in her seat, an economy-class seat, even though she could technically at least have flown home first class. You didn't do things like that when you had spent the last few years working to help destitute orphans who lived in a world where children under five would fight to the death over a scrap of bread. Now, thanks to the small private charitable organisation ... read full excerpt from The Blackmail Baby ebook

As always, Penny Jordan did a fantastic writing yet another riveting romance. Jordan always has a way of making you genuinely feel for the characters in her books and it was no different in the case of Dracco and Imogene. From start to finish, Jordan weaves a story that will have you laughing out loud at some parts and make you shed a tear not two pages later!

If you are a reader who loves a hero with such an alpha personality - you won't regret buying this book. This is avery intense and passionate story. It is about 2 very sexy character who prove to be courageous and life. The book is indeed a lively sensual story that urges the reader to keep turning those pages. I read this book in one-sitting because it is so difficult to put down! I recommend the book to lovers of Harlequin Presents.

1 out of 5 stars Not what I would call 'erotica'. 03/10/2008
Reviewer: A viewer from Northampton, UK
I would first like to say that I am really confused as to how/why I found this book in the 'erotica' section! To say nothing of the unappealing and old-fashioned characters (seriously, her father's will has her money put in trust until she's 30, or until she gets married! What has Penny Jordan got against modernism and feminists?!), the plot is highly unrealistic and the sex is non-existent. Well, there is sex, but instead of steamy, erotic descriptions, it's all about him clasping her to his chest and her 'shattering into millions of pieces'. Revolting. Quite frankly it's such a schmaltzy and sentimental book, it made me want to be sick. I can't believe I actually wasted my money on it!

The Blackmail Baby was a really great book. More sweet than anything. The ending was definitely a happy one and how they ended up there was pretty hot...

I was somewhat disappointed. It started out well, but the plot was thin in some parts. The hero could have been a stronger character.
