Usually, female characters in these types of stories are pretty ditzy and whimpy. However, Jessica in this story, is strong, smart, and ambitious. She knows whats best for her and that does not include having, Ryan, a man who couldn't even acknowledge her as a lover in public in her life. She leaves him when she finds about her pregnancy, but he is not ready to let her go and takes action to get her back. Jessica, though moved, does not just fall at his feet from his seduction. She made him work for it!
