To Sir Phillip, With Love
"E-Book Extras: Behind the Novel by Julia Quinn, The Bridgerton Basics: Ms. Quinn Fills You In

Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster when he proposed to her in a letter -- but Sir Phillip was wrong. The dashing beauty steals his heart, but can the rugged, moody Sir Phillip convince her it's a perfect match? "Our contemporary Jane Austen" (Jill Barnett).

Sir Phillip knew that Eloise Bridgerton was a spinster, and so he'd proposed, figuring that she'd be homely and unassuming, and more than a little desperate for an offer of marriage. Except. she wasn't. The beautiful woman on his doorstep was anything but quiet, and when she stopped talking long enough to close her mouth, all he wanted to do was kiss her.and more.

Did he think she was mad? Eloise Bridgerton couldn't marry a man she had never met! But then she started thinking.and wondering. and before she knew it, she was in a hired carriage in the middle of the night, on her way to meet the man she hoped might be her perfect match. Except.he wasn't. Her perfect husband wouldn't be so moody and ill-mannered, and while Phillip was certainly handsome, he was a large brute of a man, rough and rugged, and totally unlike the London gentlemen vying for her hand. But when he smiled.and when he kissed her.the rest of the world simply fell away, and she couldn't help but wonder.could this imperfect man be perfect for her? "

To Sir Phillip, With Love

Chapter One

May 1824
Somewhere on the road from
London to Gloucestershire
The middle of the night

Dear Miss Bridgerton --

Thank you for your kind note at the loss of my wife. It was thoughtful of you to take the time to write to a gentleman you have never met. I offer you this pressed flower as thanks. It is naught but the simple red campion (Silene dioica), but it brightens the fields here in Gloucestershire, and indeed seems to have arrived early this year.

It was Marina's favorite wildflower.

Sincerely,
Sir Phillip Crane

Eloise Bridgerton smoothed the well-read sheet of paper across her lap. There was little light by which to see the words, even with the full moon shining through the windows of the coach, but that didn't really matter. She had the entire letter memorized, and the delicate pressed flower, which was actually more pink than red, was safely protected between the pages of a book she'd nipped from her brother's library.

She hadn't been too terribly surprised when ... read full excerpt from: To Sir Phillip, With Love ebook

Book 5 Phillip and Eloise's story. Book starts where book 4 ends. Eloise's best friend is married, she no longer has another spinster friend to pal around with. Phillip proposes by letter, so it seems like a great plan to give this some serious consideration. Great Humor. Great Book!

This is the story of Eloise Bridgerton, who at 28, is still unmarried and now fears she may never marry. She starts a pen pal sort of relationship with Sir Phillip when she sends a note of condolence to him upon the death of his wife...her 4th cousin. He invites her to visit the idea of marriage in mind. She does with no notice and the fun starts there when she meets his twin 8 year olds-- that he forgot to mention. How do you forget to mention your 8 year old twins over a period of a year's correspondence? Especially when you had in mind to marry so your children would have a mother? Hmmm...............Only a Bridgerton could handle this situation and Eloise does, along with flour, black eyes, brothers and such. Another wonderfully funny and engaging novel from the ever wonderful Julia Quinn

Julia Quinn is such a talented writer. It is so hard to pull of an interesting historical romance that is actually funny and hot (in a victorian sort of way) but she does it. While I am normally a fan of erotic paranormals, Quinn does not disappoint with this segment of her Bridgertons series.
