In Rereading German History, Richard Evans draws together his essays on the political, economic, cultural and social history of Germany through war and reunification. In his reconsideration of German history in the light of the recent decline and fall of the German Democratic Republic, the collapse of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany, Evans also reflects on the ways in which the events of 1989-90 have led or not led to widespread changes in historian's readings of the German past.
