Naked in Death
"In a world of danger and deception, she walks the line--between seductive passion and scandalous murder... Eve Dallas is a New York police lieutenant hunting for a ruthless killer. In over ten years on the force, she's seen it all--and knows her survival depends on her instincts. And she's going against every warning telling her not to get involved with Roarke, an Irish billionaire--and a suspect in Eve's murder investigation. But passion and seduction have rules of their own, and it's up to Eve to take a chance in the arms of a man she knows nothing about--except the addictive hunger of needing his touch."

5 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC!! 10/12/2009
Reviewer: Dozysparks from Broken Hill, AU
Brings back fond memories of the early relationship between my husband and me.. Eve and Roarke share so many similarities with us that I'm driven to read them all time and time again.. The stories just bounce along and have me laughing and crying over and over again.. The twists and turns of the murders keep my mind working overtime and the technology although fictional is really going to be the future.. Love it love it love it!!

Honestly, I was really surprised that I liked this book so much. So much so, that I went to the library as soon as I was done with the book to search for the next one. I've never read any of Nora Robert's books and wrongly assumed that I wouldn't like her books because she is a well known mainstream romance author. I enjoyed the gritty feel of the novel and the slow, burn of the romance between Eve and Roarke. The plot didn't feel contrived at all. The only thing I'd say is that the futuristic feel of the book is just not that strong - not that it's really a bad thing. I guess I'm just use to reading more paranormal/urban fantasy books where things are so different than the real world. I love Eve and Roarke's characters. While many authors write stories with a strong female character, the strength often crumbles at the drop of a difficult situation. This is not so with Eve. She was consistent in her actions and thoughts. Roarke was a great balance of the strong, powerful, alpha male that was also sensitive and vulnerable. A slow build up to the romance is what I prefer and exactly what I got. It's exciting to see that there are so many books in this series and that the ratings have been consistently high because I suspect these books will keep me interested and entertained for a long time to come.

This is the first book i've read in the series and it was great. The writing style is easy to follow and I like how the story is written in first person. it really allows the reader to get into the characters head. Most mysteries do not follow through on the surprise ending, but this one keeps you guessing til the end.

I loved this book. I like the writing of Nora Roberts, but the character of Lt. Eve Dallas is a different one for her and, in my opinion, is excellent. She is well thought out and well rounded for a beginning book of a series. You grow to like her and laugh because she is just so New York. This book covers subjects not normally acceptable in the romance/suspense book world. The book leaves you wanting to read more, but doesn't leave you hanging. While its impossible to figure out until the end, mostly because you are not privy to all the Lt. knows, it allows you to follow her investigation and whodunit yourself. Don't fool yourself, if NY attitude bugs you, you are going to be bugged by the Lt. The subjects are adult, this is not for youngsters. You will applaud the Lt., want to hug Peabody and kidnap Roarke.
