Yet another great Feehan book. I love the mix of dark dangerous with passion. If you love her other Carpathian books then this is a must read, though it is in the basic format as her others that they must go through trial and error before they can be happy.

This story starts from the previous book Dark Celebration. I really loved this installment. Mary Ann is smart and strong and Manolito is a great man who awakens with his soul parted, caused by an attack he barely survived. One part is attached to Mary Ann and the other is trapped in the neither world. But the trouble is that he doesn’t know that. He awakens confused and feels abandoned by his lifemate Mary Ann, because she won’t respond to his call. Because he thinks she won’t help him he believes he did something unforgivable to her. Mary Ann is a counselor for battered women and is asked to help a woman in Brazil. Because of her knowledge of Carpathian males she doesn’t want to be bound to one of them, but she doesn’t know that Manolito has claimed her on their previous encounter and that his soul is attached to her. I liked this installment very much, but I would recommend reading Dark Celebration before this book, otherwise you could have some trouble following the storyline.

Christine Feehan once again does what she does best!Passionate characters, intrigue, lots of action, honor, hot sex and loveall rolled into one. This is the first "girly girl" that Ms feehan has introduced. Mary anne is not a warrior, she 's about fashion and nail polish. She finds the strength inside to rise to the ocasion and risk her life to protect others from danger. I've read so many of Ms. Feehans books that I didn't love Mary anne's character at first. But the author built her up until I found myself loving her courage. Of course the sex is hot. The story kept me glued to the pages. I reccommend this book highly!

I have loved all of christine feehans's dark series as well as her other novels, and this one yet again lives up to her high standards. cant wait for the next one, they never come fast enough for me.
