Holly's writing as usual is crisp, and... hot. This is part of a trilogy, I believe and thus has the cliffhanger ending that's both exciting and, well a little disappointing. The side characters are just teased here, not fully developed. You can feel Holly ramping up to explore them in the future works, but part of me wanted to see that depth now. The focus of the novel is a little scattered because it's working towards the next books. Exciting, if uneven. Steamy? But of course. Even if it's not as tight as some of her previous works, it's still enjoyable Holly.
