We recommend you download one of our test eBooks to make sure you have the right settings on your computer.

For the most part, you'll find the same ebooks at each virtual online ebook store, just differences in price. Happily, I found the Diesel eBook download store to be the exception to the rule. Not only did they have most of the titles I've found at other sites online, they had a nice selection I hadn't seen anywhere else, in particular, the complete collection of original Sherlock Holmes novels all in one compendium, and in Palm eReader format, just how I like.

Drums of Autumn

It is 1767, on the eve of the American Revolution. Jamie and Claire have landed on the shores of Charleston, South Carolina, to join the exiled Scottish Highlanders and begin a new life. Jamie, with his wife by his side and his daughter Brianna safe in the future, is determined to seek refuge in the mountains and keep his distance from a war that is not his own. But when Brianna crosses into the past in search of the father she has never seen, Jamie realizes that war spares no one—and that love is the only thing worth fighting for.

"Gracious, you vill not how long haf eaten?" Miss Viorst peered at Brianna's empty bowl with goodwilled incredulity. About the same age as Brianna herself, she was a broad-built, placid-tempered Dutchwoman whose motherly manner made her seem a good deal older.

"Day before yesterday, I think." Brianna gratefully accepted a second helping of dumplings and broth, and yet another thick slab of salt-rising bread slathered with curls of fresh white butter. "Oh, thank you!" The food did something to fill the hollow space that yawned inside her, a small warm comfort around which to ... read full excerpt from: Drums of Autumn ebook

Drums of Autumn is the fourth instalment of the Outlander series by Diana Gabaldon. As Claire and Jamie are settling down, Brianna travels trough the stones to find her parents, to warn them, and Roger eventually follows her. I enjoyed Jamie and Claire being comfortably together, secure in their love for one another and settled in their new home. This book, like the other three, was filled with laughter, tears, romance and adversity. I liked the addition of Brianna and Roger's story as well as John Grey's continued presence in this book.

Diana Gabaldon is unparalelled in her writting in historical fiction. This is her fourth novel in the outlander series that is so easily addicting. Main characters Clair and Jaime Fraser are reunited and throughout the book work to settle themselves in the new world of America. A change of scenery does not lack for characters new and old or adventure. However, the charm of the scottish highlands is missing and instead is traded for the unending wilderness of the backcountry and native americans.
