In a world where everyone can control at least one element, Tavi can't control any. Yet in a world torn by rebellion he must become more than he ever thinks he can be. If you enjoy political fantasy, you will love this book and this series. Jim Butcher brings the same skill to this world as he does to his Harry Dresden novels, creating fully developed characters and developing long-term story lines which will keep you anticipating the next entry in the wold of Alera.

I found this book very intresting and different from the usual fantasy you get to read. For example there is no old wise wizard helping the protagonist and telling him what to do. And the protagonist isn't made special in some way (ûber magical powers etc.) actually he is abnormal because he doesn't have the furycrafting when everyone else have. So he is the only "normal" person in the world where everyone else is special and I found this idea very refreshing. If you like fantasy overall I suggest you read this book and if you are sick of Drizzt and Belgarion this book is a must.
