Blood Bound
Mechanic Mercy Thompson has friends in low places-and in dark ones. And now she owes one of them a favor. Since she can shapeshift at will, she agrees to act as some extra muscle when her vampire friend Stefan goes to deliver a message to another of his kind. But this new vampire is hardly ordinary-and neither is the demon inside of him. See more like this in our Fantasy ebooks section

I tend to think that in a continuing series, if the first book is good enough to catch your attention and keep you reading then the next book generally has to be even better to hold that interest that developed from the first. I think the key in this series is the protagonist, Mercy Thompson. A genuinely likeable character which means I genuinely care about the book's outcome. The supporting charcaters are starting to take more shape, although some of them have still not been clearly outlined yet, so I hope the rest of the series starts to deal with this, and that there is more to come in this vein. This is definitely worth a read for fans of this genre.

Reviewer: A viewer from Bloomington, IL US
The second book is a much stronger book than the "Moon Called". My main complaint for "Moon Called" was that the plot was a bit too confusing. This is not the case for this book. The action was more exciting and I found myself plunging through the story, regardless of what else I had going on. I really appreciate how most of the characters from "Moon Called" came back because at this point, I feel like they are my friends and I really care about what happens to them. Also, instead of recapping everything that happened from the previous book in one big lump(something I find annoying) Briggs does a wonderful job of recapping in small bits here and there. Mercy Thompson is my kind of heroine. Despite the fact that she's strong and resourceful, she is also sensitive, vulnerable and fearful. This makes her feel more like a real person and when she's hurt, it means that much more. The romance is definitely very, very light in the story but I'm willing to wait for it heat up since that's more in line with Mercy's character. I'm already looking forward to reading the next book.

This book was really good and the tie in with the alpha and omega series was very well done. Mercy Thompson is a great character that just sucks you in and you want her to succeed in what ever she is trying to do.

I am captivated by this series. I think it has just the right amount of spunk, humor, romance, and suspense. Definitely a series worth reading. In this second installment, Mercy's journey takes her deep into the 'vampire politics' of her world. We learn just what kind of a relationship she and Stephan, her vampire client with a love for Scooby Doo, have - for better or for worse, and of course, the Adam-Mercy-Samuel love triangle just gets better and better. This book is full of surprises. I don't suggest reading this book until you've read the first book, Moon Called. It is definitely worth it!

What is not to love aobut his series? Plausible fantasy writing in a gritty world where the hero has to get up and work at her garage the next day. Mercy is a fantastic character, her interactions within the politics of the were pack are fascinating. This kept me up into the wee hours of the morning. I could not put it down until I was finished.
