Ward really knows how to bring her characters off the page. The Brothers are all different but dedicated to their jobs and, soon within each of her books, they are dedicated to their mates. Making them all have their own problems to discover and work out makes the story all that more interesting.

Rhage is a vampire that is sexier than Brad Pitt (per the author) on a good day...and Mary Luce is a wonderful woman trying to battle her Leukemia. Rhage has also been cursed to turn into a savage dragon of sorts when he is enraged. This book is sexy, romantic, touching, and exciting all at the same time. The scenes between Rhage and Mary are wonderful and unforgettable. I loved the idea that Mary wasn't the most attractive woman in the world, but the sexiest man/vampire in the world fell for her. What I really liked about this book...was the way that the author allowed Rhage and Mary to fall in love and the obstacles that they had to overcome were real problems not personal hang-ups. Mary is sick and Rhage has a demon in him that he can't control. This book is my favorite in the series because the author does a magnificent job in making the characters seem authentic and genuine. This is an incredibly romantic story...so do yourself a favor and read it!

I really enjoyed the story of Rhage and Mary. The two of them have to survive many challenges before they can get to their eternal love. The characters are really impressive and colourful. They aren't perfect and that is what makes them interesting. There are also many other characters involved and Wrath and Beth from the first part have their moments,too.

I love the Black Dagger Brotherhood Series! Rhage and Mary's story is sweet and just feeds the brotherhood addiction! As this is the second book in the series I definately recommend starting with "Dark Lover", Wrath and Beth's story before the addiction takes hold completely.

My favorite of all the Black Dagger Brotherhood characters, Rhage is the vampire with the strongest appetites but Mary can tame his inner dragon (literally). Emotional ups and downs, steamy love scenes, and crazy battles - this book has it all.
