I have always loved these vampire books. I actually read this book before Twilight and I thought that this book should get more credit. It incorporates the love story and all of the action. Would recommend to a friend!

This book is a great begining in a really good series. The storyline is a bit different from other "vamp" books I've read, and I was pleasantly suprised. The characters are well written and further develope throughout the series. You get drawn into the world of Morgansville, Texas...the fight for survival, and the vampire politics. The main character, Claire Danvers, is super intelligent, caring and determined. It's fun to watch her and her friends try to stay one step ahead of the vampires. After reading this book, you'll want to get the second book fairly quickly! I would reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys the vamp or supernatural genres.

I wasn't too sure what to expect from this story, but I'm very glad that I bought it. I couldn't put the book down! Claire is a heroine that one can easily empathise with and all the hints of this delicious world just leave me wanting more. Can't wait to read the next instalment.
