There a dragons in this world. They are all around us but we never know it. They are at war with themselves. The Pyr dragons want to protect humanity while the Slayer dragons want to dominate and destroy humanity and their Pyr supporters. The Dragons are long lived and must wait for their firestorm to locate their mates. But once a firestorm starts, every dragon is drawn to it, the good and the bad. And the mate, she is human. Can the Pyr dragon destined to be this human's, Alexadra, mate protect her from the slayers through their firestorm? Plus Alexandra is an inventor with an invention that will change the world. An invention that the slayers don't want to see her finish.

This dragon series isn’t too bad, the books read rather quickly and the characters are at least marginally interesting. Where I am losing patience, sadly it’s by book 2!!!, is in the miserly doling out of information. The characters’ personalities are so blandly drawn as to make them difficult to discern from one another. The author spends all her time describing the dragons but doing it in such a way that one’s left with a slightly befuddled idea of what they must look like and their sizes. The story lines are interesting enough, but nothing out of the ordinary. I’m also not entirely sure the author knows where or how she’s going to work through this series at times. She sometimes throws in a new plot device with very little explanation.
