I can't put my finger on what exactly disappointed me; I did not enjoy this book as much as "Some Girls Bite". Merit is still learning her way around the House, trying to reconcile herself with her inner badass vampire, trying to date her maybe boyfriend Morgan, semi-secretly lusting after her boss Ethan which is probably the problem. There is little in the second book to set Merit's story apart from the other story's in this genre. Conflicts between the vamps and the shifter/were community is almost cliche. I will keep reading this series because I like many things about Chloe Neill's writing but I sincerely hope the story goes somewhere in the next book.
