Immediate Action Required:

Previous reports of the death of former Imperial Admiral Philip Guthrie in Baris sector appear to be in error per new information from one of our operatives in deep cover in the Alliance. Guthrie's capture and/or termination now top priority for all Baris and Calth sector operatives. The Farosians must not be allowed access to Guthrie. The so-called rebel "Alliance" must not be allowed to benefit from this traitor's expertise or financial resources. All restrictions on civilian casualties lifted as per Command Prime. Failure is not an option. This bulletin self-destructs in thirty seconds.

This book was a great read. I would recommend that before reading this one you read the first 2 books in the series so you know the background of the characters or you might get confused.

Admiral Philip Guthrie is on the wrong end of the law, leading a band of rebels against the Imperial forces he was once part of; or would be if he could get his command ship—the derelict Hope’s Folly—functioning. Not much can rattle Philip’s legendary cool—but the woman who helps foil an assassination attempt will-Rya Bennton is the daughter of his best friend & first commander—a man who died while under Philip’s command. It’s an impossible mission: A man who feels he can’t love. A woman who believes she’s unlovable. And an enemy who will stop at nothing to crush them both. Guthrie is the ex-husband of Capt. Chaz Bergen from Gabriel's Ghost and Shades of Dark but this can be read as a stand-alone.
