This was a good book. McGuire's writing similar to early Hamilton (Anita Blake, before the stories became porn). She presents a great story, vivid descriptions, deep characters, great dialogue; it feels real to the reader. I finished the book in one setting; it seriously held my interest. McGuire is definitely on my list of authors to recommend. I won't give away spoilers but will say that if you are interested in Rosemary and Rue based on the overview and blurb, buy this book.
