Chapter One
THE BITCH HAD everything. Everything that should
have been his, they'd given to her. Even their name. She
was their princess, the charmed one, but she'd paid for it.
He'd made sure of it. And she'd continue to pay, he'd make
sure of that, as well.
He knew better than to try to force the anger and resentment
aside. Keeping his emotions close like a faithful old
companion, he concentrated on the task at hand.
He plucked a pink rhinestone necklace and pair of matching
earrings from the jewelry box, then snapped it closed
before strolling across the candlelit basement to the operating
table, where she waited for him.
She had a name, but it was unimportant. All that mattered
was that she would pay for her sins.
"So pretty," he said, his tone venomous as he slid the
necklace in place. "That's what they say about you, isn't
it?"
She didn't answer him. Probably couldn't even hear him
in her current state of unconsciousness. But she'd awaken
again soon enough.
