Chapter One

Jack Davidson had become a stalker. Retired from Wall Street at age twenty-nine, stalker at age thirty. That was attractive. He followed Jamie Peters down into the subway, keeping an eye on her ginger hair as she paused in the crowd. She dug in her purse, cell phone to her ear, lips moving rapidly.

He felt like a complete and total idiot following her, the music to Mission Impossible tripping across his brain. Spying wasn't exactly his area of expertise, given that he was an exstockbroker and day trader. Numbers he could follow, but people were a whole different skill set, and he was pretty sure he looked ridiculous and obvious. Not to mention he didn't normally even breathe without planning it in a spreadsheet first.

This was just a sweet, lovely book full of emotion and charm. It shows us how two very different people fall madly in love and learn to trust each other, while soothing away doubts and fears long held. Funny at times and intense at others, Jack and Jamie are satisfying and real characters.

Jamie Peters is a social worker with a big heart who seems to be a magnet for the wrong kind of men. After a cross dressing psychic predicts she will find the man of her dreams. She not only meets Jack but finds herself surrounded by other men, that will alter her future. Jamie finds herself battling destiny as she finds out she doesn't know Jack. This is a fast paced, sexy and fun read.

I usually don't like Contemporary Romance. When I go into a fantasy I want to go very far away. But this contemporary is worth it. The characters are interesting and funny and the romance starts out sweet but turns to sizzle quickly.

I'm a little surprised; generally I haven't found chick lit enjoyable just annoying. This was funny. It had hot sex and really embarrassing moments. It was great and cheesy and very worthy of a Ben and Jerry's night. Not to say it was without the requisite Sex and the City tone, it wouldn’t be chick lit if it didn’t. But even with the absurdly wealthy leading man and the oh so sweet stunningly hot do-gooder leading chick, it worked. I think it was that they were all a bit soft hearted in the end and the big issue turned into something very workable. I liked that choice of humanity over sensationalist drama.
