Chapter One

Sixteen years later

"Well, how bad is it?" Smitty asked, handing Mace Llewellyn a hot cup of coffee.

"Bad. Really bad. I can't sleep. I barely eat. I'm terrified they're going to come in the middle of the night and burn the house down." He shook his head and sipped his coffee, unable to continue.

"How much longer?"

Mace took a deep breath. "Another month. But she's talked about not going back. A few months ago I thought that would make me happy; but not now. It horrifies me."

Smitty winced. "Isn't there something you can do?"

When his friend only looked away, Smitty bumped his shoulder with his own. "Fess up, hoss. What did you do?"

"You don't understand," Mace stated desperately. "I had to do something. It's not just us I have to think about, but the baby."

"What did you do?"

Unable to look Smitty in the eye, "I called her father."

"And?"

"They'll be calling her back to duty next week." Shaking his head, "I had to do something, Smitty. It was out of hand."

Smitty has loved Jessie all his life and it seems she is all grown up and has forgotten him, or has she? Another fun, quirky, laugh out loud sexy read from Laurenston. Nice collection of supporting characters both new and old to add to the fun and you are cheering for Smitty all the way.

These books bring in the man back in male. yum!! they are hott, smokin, a can put all kinds of hurt down. They also know how to love on a woman and to love a woman. the story line flows and is never chopy and the sex scenes are hot enough youll either get some or be in a cold shower

This book was bit disappointing compared with the others in the series. I don't know if I just did not connect with characters or what but I just didn't get that same feeling that I usually get from Shelly Laurenston books.

I read 'Mane Attraction' before this and thought I would not like the characters. Well I was wrong! Jessica is soo cute and more than a match for Bobby Ray. The chasing the tails aside Shelly Laurenston brings a humour and strength to Jessica that more than matches Bobby Ray and his sister Sissy Mae. All in all a fun read.

This book is amazing, I loved it. I would buy it again in a heartbeat. The characters are so good together there was one scene in particular where they are eatting fried chicken together, it's worth buying the book just to read that scene. BUY THE BOOK. you won't regret it.
