MURDER...will be recorded is the story of an audacious attempt to steal 50 billion dollars from the Mormon Church, set in Salt Lake City, and also in Russia, Turkey, China, England, the Hoover Dam and all over. It introduces a remarkable villain, Sabena Springer, who is the reincarnation of a remarkable heroine, Malka Dritz. Sabena's first and juiciest victim is Freddy Ellerby, who had been Malka's patron saint. Her enemies are another heroine, Mother Superior Carmen (aka supermom), nursing supervisor of St. Ardyth's Hospital in Salt Lake, and her medical colleague, Dr. Alexander Steinman. Did I say Alexander Steinman? Perhaps I should have called him Dr. Roger Freedom (an Americanization of the latin name, Fiahesku) or maybe Fradalerta, a thoroughly vile krishna that Sabena brought to Salt Lake to help her snatch the loot via the internet, just as the Chinese set off an above-ground nuclear test blast on a little island in the pacific, a blast that will rain radioactive ash on the intermountain west.When will the blast occur? When else but on Easter Sunday, Allie's favorite holiday? And how did the Chinese get that island? The Mormons sold it to them at a good price. Since Alex is Alex, even when he is Roger, the book contains plenty of medical vignettes plus generous servings of his personal trilogy, beer, babes and basketball. If book one (Murder Can't Be Prevented) showed that a savior sleeps in each of us, this book reminds each of us of our inner devil, a demon that never sleeps and is always hungry. As Easter day comes and goes, we relearn the lethal difference between victories between peoples and victory over people.
