Trusting Obedience
ABRAHAM
"Take your son, your only son-yes, Isaac, whom you love so much-and go to the
land of Moriah. Go and sacrifice him as a burnt offering on one of the mountains,
which I will show you." Genesis 22:2
Have you ever faced a situation in which you knew that God was calling you
to do something very specific-such as change your job, move to another
community, or make a daunting personal sacrifice-but instead of immediately
stepping out in obedience, you waited to see what he would do next?
Abraham, the father of the Jewish race, once faced a situation in which
delayed obedience must have seemed very tempting. God had given him a
command that made little sense from a human perspective: "Take your son,
your only son-yes, Isaac, whom you love so much-and go ... sacrifice
