Frankie's dark stare shifted over her when he leaned forward and closed the gate behind them. The heavy metal slammed shut. She jerked around, trying to shake the foreboding sense she'd just entered a prison. Of course, that was ridiculous.

Dark booths were more like beds with red velvet draperies fringed in gold?some open, but most closed, revealing teasing glimpses of couples. Women with leather thongs twisted and moved over men dressed in leather chaps, while others wore Speedos. Danielle tried to swallow past the dryness in her throat.

"I bet you've never been to a place like this," Minnie leaned in to whisper.

"You bet right." Rising heat fluttered over her. A part of her was shocked, even horrified by what she saw, while another part of her found it just so?very exciting.

"What do you think, Dani?" Minnie used her nickname and gestured to the room.
