He stared a little more at the mirror, and realized he was dangerously close to whining. Why is it, he mused, that most of our kind spend our time on earth whining? Last night had been the last straw. At what should have been the party of the season with laughter making the sparkling chandeliers shiver, his guests had wandered about moaning and complaining about everything. Everyone whined, and the werewolves were the worst. Hear one whining werewolf and you want to lock them all in the kennels. Which reminded him?he'd better go set Luster loose before the damn creature gnawed through the bars. He pulled the curtain open a bit and glanced out the window. The sun had set. He could go out now. He flung his cloak over his shoulders and glided out the door.

Luster sat in the kennels glaring at him. Now in human form, he looked puny but furious. "I hope you're satisfied. I missed the full moon last night and now I'll have to wait another month before I can go visit my wife."
