This book was great. While the beginning was a bit slow Rolls totally made up for it with the middle and end. Max and Verity are great charaters and the stumbling blocks and miscomunitcation between them make for fantastic reading and it certainly doesn't hurt that Rolls also has created full bodied sub characters. A must read...over and over:)

This book contained plenty of romance along with an interesting plot. The tension between the main characters became a little much by the end of the book. Overall was worth the time and kept you interested in what would happen next.

	Old fashioned but with sex 10/03/2009

This is one of Harlequin's free introductions to one of its series, in this case their historical series. It is recent enough to have a number of medium steamy not that explicit sex scenes. Despite this, the plot is old school Harlequin. Young virginal woman falls for older lord who is kind to her. He seduces her, takes her virginity, feels obliged to marry her and then they proceed to have many misunderstandings for several hundred pages. Rolls writes well so the pages turn (well flip on your computer screen) easily enough, but you do get tired of the weeping and angst after a while.

I enjoyed this book even though the version (program) that I got seemed extremely long, which if it had just been a bit lighter would have been okay. I was disappointed with how many times the author had the female character put down and the male character doing it. I was sort of frustrated by the end and almost hoped that there would be a shocking ending like one of them died. That might be too harsh, but I guess that makes for a good writer if you can been drawn into the characters tormoil enough to be angry for them and at them.

Good beginning, but dragged on in the middle with misunderstanding after misunderstanding between the two characters, and that makes it quite infuriating and to an extent boring. It's a free download after all, so not too bad all things considered.
