I have to say that I completely disagree with the other review on this site. Though I did find that the heroine changed her mind on several occasions, I found it believable and I really enjoyed the book. I personally love western historical romances and I was hooked from the first page. I suppose everyone has their opinions and while one person may not like a certain book, another person will. I will definitely keep this author on my to buy list.

"To Love A Gambler" has an interesting enough premise, that might have worked. There are, however, a few too many inconsistencies (such as the heroine being identified as 20 and 26 at different points in the book, during the same year). More frustrating, however, is the heroine herself who is somewhat abusive, so hot tempered that she doesn't seem to think at all (or even genuinely feel), irritatingly changeable (and inconsistent), and not infrequently foolish and incompable of empathy. The hero is a much more sympathetic character but even he begins to get irritating with his unwillingness to face up to his problems. When he does finally decide to do so, the reader is never quite sure when he changed his mind or why. It's all quite sudden. It is worth noting that the version I downloaded (MS Reader) is cut off pre-maturely, the text ending at page 290 in mid-line. I have to admit, however, that I didn't mind. It just gave me an excuse not to read the remainder. But like I said, if you don't mind the heroine, the story might actually be enjoyable. If that is the case, I hope your file will include the ending.
