Although the book was relatively well written and paced well, the description of this book is misleading. There is no romance in this book. It explores dark themes of captivity and force and is non-consensual. The male, and he is in no way a'hero' does believe he loves the woman, but the author makes it clear that that's a delusion and it's in no way real love. While I don't have a problem with this kind book in general, I found the description of this book to be rather misleading. Normally, it would not be something I read. So if you're looking for non-consent and degradation (as the title says), then this book is for you. If you're looking for romantic elements, pass on this book.
