Without Reservations

Sometimes love just catches you by the tail. Chayton Winston is a veterinarian. He is also a werewolf. Much to his Native American parent's chagrin, he has always dreamed of a fair-haired, Caucasian mate. However, he never imagined his mate would be male. As a heterosexual man, he's not quite sure what to do with a male mate, but more than willing to find out. Keaton Reynolds wakes up, in wolf form, and finds himself with a mate. He's instantly attracted, but not so thrilled to find out the man is straight. Having been in a relationship once before where his partner professed to be "Not gay" left a bad taste in his mouth. Keaton wants to make a break for it and pretend he never set eyes on Chay-but Chay is not ready to let him go. Together the two work to solidify their shaky relationship and battle the prejudices against homosexuals. Chay must deal with not only his mother's prejudices against gay men but also her hatred of white people. When a power struggle in Keaton's pack threatens Keaton's life, the two men learn to depend on one another and their relationship to get them through it. Chapter One

Keaton blinked his eyes open. He lay in the backseat of a car ... no, it was bigger than a car. A truck. He tried to push himself up into a sitting position. Ouch. His head ached something fierce ... Oh yeah. He'd been shot.

"You're awake. Hang on a few more minutes, Little Bit, and I'll get you inside so you can shift."

Keaton's head snapped up-ouch-at the deep sexy voice. Little Bit? Who in the ...? The man had a gorgeous head of black hair, high cheekbones and a tanned complexion. He was obviously Native American and fairly young but that was all Keaton could see from his point of view. He raised his snout and sniffed, trying to see if the man's scent seemed familiar, and damn if his cock didn't throb. Good God Almighty, what a wonderful scent. The butterflies got worse. Even so, he discerned that the man was a wolf and that he definitely didn't know him.

J L Langley is an awesome story teller. In this book, I found the characters so endearing. Chay and Keaton are both witty and funny, yet bring a strong masculine vibe to the story. I wished i could meet this guys and make them my best buds. There is also enough action and suspense to make this a must read!!!

The characters are well-done, sensitve, plot seems to follow possible gay problems well, great humor especially in regards to a straight guy being a mate to a gay man and the gay man doesn't believe it will work.

An exellent book to read if you're in werewolf and angst gay love. Not bad at all. There's a bit of humour in Chay's way of 'courting' his mate. Got to admit, it has a bit of grammar mistakes, but the plot totally makes up for it. I read it just after I finished download it and havent stop until the end, which was around 4 hours of reading it on my laptop.

My heart just broke every time someone hurt these characters, but I cheered for the triumph of their love. Oh, I loved Keaton! His mixture of strength and vulnerability was wonderful, and his characterization was fully realized. The relationship is really central to this book, moreso than the paranormal elements.
