Cowgirl Up and Ride is the third book in the Rough Riders Series of erotic western romance by Lorelei James. The story is about AJ who is in love with Cord ever since she was a kid but Cord has a hard time seeing her as a grown woman and not as neighbor girl in pigtails. This is the best book in the series so far- it has all the component for a great book- romance, very steamy love scenes and great characters. I especially loved the last few chapters but in order not to spoil I won't say anything more.

The primary story was excellent. The characters were developed very well. Their story had both romance and sexiness. However, too many secondary characters without a well developed secondary story kept this one from hitting it out of the park. I kept losing track of who was Kane, Kade, Dag, Sleepy, Sneezy, and Dopey...and didn't care. (shrug) The entire Boar's Nest shenanigans could (and should) have been left on the cutting room floor and this would have been a 5-star read. This was my first title from this author, but I'm definitely interested in reading the others in this series. If you like your romance to have a lot of heat, this one is for you. Just skip the chapters with Jasmine and the crew and you'll be fine.

This book will leave you begging for more. It makes you want to take a page out of AJ book and go after your heart desire. its a true love story that will make your heart melts with erotics at its best. oh be sure you're in a comfy setting while reading, lol.

Cord, the oldest McKay brother, has been Mr. Responsible his whole life. AJ, the sweet neighbor girl, has secretly loved Cord her whole life. Now she is looking for some assistance in shedding her goody-2-shoes image and Cord is the only man she'll have. Family drama, stubbornness, and male pride all add something to this stimulating tale. The background is laid for future McKay story lines. This is not a book for the squeaky clean.

I thought this book was really good. The main romance was great and the sex was hot! My only problem with this book are the secondary characters . They have too many issues and I don't think it belonged in this story. That's why I give it 4 and not 5 stars.
